Terms of Service

Effective: 2026-06-18

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the braceful browser extension and related software ("braceful", "the extension", "we", "us", or "our"). By installing or using braceful, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the extension.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By installing, accessing, or using braceful, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you are using braceful on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. License to use the extension

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use braceful for your own personal or internal business purposes. This license does not transfer to any third party, and you may not sublicense, resell, or redistribute the extension. All other rights are reserved.

You agree not to:

3. Free and Pro tiers

braceful offers a Free tier and a paid Pro tier. The Free tier is provided at no cost and includes the offline viewer, broken-JSON repair, large-file viewing, the collapsible tree, and search. The Pro tier unlocks additional features and is offered on a subscription basis. We may change which features belong to each tier over time; any change will apply going forward and will not reduce features you have already paid for during your current paid term.

4. Subscriptions, billing, and Paddle as Merchant of Record

All payments for the Pro tier are processed by Paddle.com ("Paddle"), which acts as our authorized Merchant of Record and reseller. This means Paddle is the seller of record for your purchase and handles all payments, billing, taxes, currency conversion, and invoicing. Your purchase is therefore also subject to Paddle's buyer terms and privacy policy in addition to these Terms.

Pro subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis — monthly or annually, depending on the plan you choose — through Paddle. Applicable taxes are calculated and collected by Paddle based on your location.

5. Free trial

The Pro tier includes a 14-day free trial that requires no credit card. The trial lets you evaluate Pro features before paying. Unless you choose to subscribe, the trial simply ends and you return to the Free tier — you are not charged.

6. Auto-renewal and cancellation

Paid Pro subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) at the then-current price, unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time through the management link in your Paddle receipt or by contacting us. When you cancel, your Pro access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and it is not renewed thereafter. Refunds, where applicable, are governed by our Refund Policy.

7. Acceptable use

You agree to use braceful lawfully and not to misuse it — including not using it to process content you have no right to access, not attempting to compromise the extension or other users, and not using it in any way that violates applicable law. braceful processes data locally on your device; you are responsible for the data you choose to open with it.

8. Intellectual property

braceful, including its name, logo, design, and all software and content, is and remains our exclusive property and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a license to use the extension; they do not transfer any ownership of braceful's intellectual property to you. The JSON and other data you process with braceful remain yours — we never receive it.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

braceful is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the extension will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your specific requirements. You use braceful at your own risk.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or business, arising out of or related to your use of braceful. To the extent we are found liable, our total aggregate liability will not exceed the amount you paid for braceful in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of braceful after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [governing-law jurisdiction to be specified], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising under these Terms will be subject to the courts of that jurisdiction, except where applicable law grants you rights that cannot be waived.
